TCS partners with Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange to upgrade trading and clearing systems

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a partnership with the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) to modernise the exchange’s trading, clearing and market surveillance infrastructure. Under the agreement, TCS will deploy a next-generation integrated technology platform designed to give DGCX a more scalable and flexible foundation for future expansion. The upgrade is expected to improve operational efficiency, support faster product development and help the exchange address the changing requirements of both regional and international market participants. The new infrastructure will also enable DGCX to expand its capabilities across traditional as well as emerging asset classes. TCS shares were trading around 5 per cent higher at Rs 2,307 per share at noon, compared with the previous closing price of Rs 2,200.80.

TCS to deploy integrated trading and surveillance platform

As part of the transformation programme, TCS will bring together multiple solutions covering trading, clearing, connectivity and market monitoring. The technology stack will include TCS BaNCS for Market Infrastructure for central counterparty clearing, along with Quartz for Surveillance, which is designed to identify unusual trading activity, potential market manipulation and fraud. TCS will also deploy TCS BaNCS Securities Trading to support trading across multiple asset classes, while TCS Quartz Gateway will provide standards-based market connectivity. The platform will additionally use generative AI-powered capabilities for reporting, analytics and decision support. Exchange trading and order matching technology from a global exchange technology partner will also form part of the overall solution. DGCX operates a digital derivatives marketplace in the Middle East, offering futures and options contracts linked to precious metals, hydrocarbons, currencies and equities. The exchange also owns and operates the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC), described as the region’s largest multi-asset clearing house.

These technologies are designed to work together in simulated manufacturing environments to demonstrate more autonomous factory operations.

TCS bags Rs 122.6 crore Odisha digital governance project

TCS had also recently secured a contract worth Rs 122.6 crore for the implementation of the next phase of the Odisha State Workflow Automation System (OSWAS 3.0). The project extends TCS’ association with the Odisha government by approximately six years. Powered by TCS DigiBOLT, OSWAS 3.0 will integrate workflow automation, analytics, cybersecurity, system integration and AI-enabled capabilities on a common digital platform. OSWAS was introduced to reduce the state government’s dependence on paper-based administrative processes. The system enables digital movement of files, electronic approvals, real-time tracking and easier access to official records. Operational since 2009, the platform currently supports more than 4,600 government offices and nearly 50,000 users across Odisha.
